February 28th, 2026 Hockey
The Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Development team invites families to a Try Adaptive Hockey for Free clinic—an easy, low-pressure opportunity for your child to step on the ice, try hockey, and see if they have fun.
This event is all about exploration and enjoyment. There’s no commitment and no experience required—just a chance for your child to try skating and hockey in a supportive, welcoming environment.
Event Overview
Try Adaptive Hockey for Free is a sensory-friendly introduction to ice hockey designed for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other cognitive or learning differences.
Rather than a formal instructional program, this event focuses on:
- Experiencing the ice at your child’s own pace
- Trying basic skating and hockey movements
- Having fun, building confidence, and feeling comfortable on the rink
- Seeing if hockey is something your child enjoys
Our experienced coaches create a predictable, encouraging environment where athletes can explore the sport with family support nearby.
