Discover Hockey in an Inclusive and Supportive Environment
Join the Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Development Team on Saturday, December 19, 2026, for our Try Adaptive Hockey Day. This free event offers athletes with disabilities the opportunity to experience adaptive hockey through three separate exciting introductory clinics.
Whether you're interested in floorball, special hockey, or sled hockey, our experienced coaches will provide a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment for participants of all ages and abilities.
No previous hockey experience is required.

Clinic Descriptions
Try Floorball for Free
The Try Floorball for Free clinic is a welcoming introduction to floorball and includes 45 minutes of instructional drills, and a fun scrimmage in our indoor sport court rink.
This program is designed for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Other cognitive or learning differences
Participants will enjoy a sensory-friendly environment featuring predictable routines, experienced coaches, and engaging activities designed to build confidence, social skills, and have fun.
What to Bring
- Athletic clothing
- Gym shoes or sneakers
- Water bottle
No equipment is required.
Try Special Hockey for Free
The Try Special Hockey for Free clinic introduces participants to the game of hockey in a supportive, sensory-friendly atmosphere on the ice.
This program is designed for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- Other cognitive or learning differences
Activities are structured to support athletes through clear instruction, predictable routines, and positive reinforcement. Participants will develop confidence, social interaction skills, coordination, and hockey fundamentals while having fun on the ice.

- Skates
- Helmet
No previous skating or hockey experience is necessary.
Try Sled Hockey for Free
Experience the excitement of sled hockey at our Try Sled Hockey for Free clinic.
This opportunity is open to children and adults of all ages with a physical disability. Participants will learn the fundamentals of sled hockey in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment led by experienced coaches.
No prior experience is required. Athletes will have the opportunity to get on the ice, learn basic skills, and participate in introductory sled hockey activities.
